Country : EgyptCaritas Egypt was established during the Arab-Israel conflict in 1967 as an "Emergency Aid-sector" providing Egyptians with essential needs. The government's appreciation for Caritas active humanitarian contribution enabled it to be officially registered as a non-governmental organization at the ministry of social affairs. Its status allows it to cooperate with several cultural, social, and developmental organizations as well as state institutes.
As an international organization, Caritas embraces all regardless of creed, race, ethnicity or gender. It fights poverty, exclusion, intolerance and discrimination. Caritas empowers people to participate fully in all matters affecting their lives and seeks to make them subjects of the ir own development and agents of change.
Caritas Egypt's scope of work is characterized by several programs which is involved in many corners life aspect in the modernization and help of special living level in Egypt;
