EDITORIAL With a few days of delay due to technical reasons (this newsletter should have been sent in late 2011 to form a group of 6 newsletters per year) we present this "Street Voices" edition as a summary of the past year and representing an outlook on our near future. In the past year we extensively discussed the difficulties that a very important (and growing) part of the population is experiencing and how social and educational organizations are experiencing a dwindling in their support resources. There is a European and international situation of great severity, and we must not only assist in the diagnosis but as well in the formulation of proposals so that our society as a network of solidarity comes out reinforced. We will also evaluate our activities in 2011 and explain what we aim for in the coming 2012. Let’s make it a year full of opportunities and partnerships, albeit possibly difficult. THE FIGHT AGAINST POVERTY AND SOCIAL EXCLUSION In 2011 we have held meetings, we have participated in forums, we have published tools for guidance, we have disseminated and exchanged practices. In addition, through an internal competition, some colleagues have presented several projects, two of which have been funded following a selection process. In this fashion, the Italian association La Rupe participated through cooperation in projects related to the Romanian community and its integration, together with Parada (Romania) and Arsis (Greece), aiming to collect appropriate practices in this regard, particularly in the field of housing.
