Welcome on the site dedicated to the international network of social street workers. This site will allow you, amongst others, to gain information on all the activities and results obtained within the frame of the network; to participate to the process of exchanges of good practices; to constitute a local workshop of street workers and to become a member of the work.
Dynamo international is at the initiative and coordinates this actual platform of international solidarity for street educators.

As you all know, last June an « International meeting for street work professionals – A world of links and learning » was held in Quebec. It was organised by the l’Association des Travailleurs et Travailleuses de Rue du Québec (ATTRueQ), the Regroupement des Organismes Communautaires en Travail de Rue (ROCQTR) and Dynamo International and was a remarkable event in many ways.
We are still writing up the minutes which will be presented to you very soon. Furthermore, major partners from the world of teaching, from the Ministry of Health and Social Services as well as several other governmental departments made these four days of training and exchange possible. In short, real team work!
It is difficult for us to have to reduce an entire week of meetings and almost two years of preparation and obstacles that were overcome through funding, which was extremely difficult to find, down to one article. Difficult, due to a lack of recognition in Quebec of this often unique practice, among other things.
This event was a harmonious mix between research and practice for over 300 actors and thinkers from over 20 countries. Grouped into “Quebecois” families, they met to discuss a shared passion: social street work. The theme of the Street Work Training quickly became the cornerstone for the substance of the meeting and the exchanges. We hope that this will provide food for thought for the Pilot Group in its forthcoming work on Street Work Training. Once the foundations were laid, the following objectives became the markers to be followed throughout the event :
Then we got down to the nitty-gritty of the week :
If the days were well-filled, the evenings for their part gave rise to numerous festivities through music and dance, where certain young people gave us the gift of their know-how and of course, of the many informal meetings that street workers are so capable of!
Attention please! The minutes of the meeting will be published this spring 2010, together with a film of the event made by a French team: A world of links and learning.
Warm thanks and Quebecois greetings to the participants from this meeting!
Hoping to see you again soon.
